Literature Text

There's something beautiful about how the rain falls from the stop lights,
I saw you from across the street, eyes wide full of horror.
No room for comfort in your soul,
I watched as they pulled you limb from limb,
Watched them climb and fall and struggle under the weight of it all.
I called out before dawn broke, fangs bared, blood rushing down their cheeks,
Too late for sorrow or apologies for why the sun didnt come out tomorrow.
She asked why and i had to lie,
For i am who you fear and i am what you love.
Simply because there's never a thunderstorm that rolls through without leaving beauty in its wake.
Before you go i have something to show you.
It's all here, how to ruin everything,
How to stop the war between yourself and me.
How to pull yourself out of what you have become.
So we ran, i almost caught up before i realized i'd gone too far.
